Protein in Kuwait's supermarket foods, pack by pack
Of the single-serve packs we checked, Nada's Power Milk has the most protein, about 40 g in a 425 ml bottle, followed by Quest's coffee shake (30 g) and KDD's Good For Me chocolate protein milk (about 22 g in 250 ml) (calculated) [4] [5] [2]. Per calorie, tuna in water and raw chicken breast give the most: Al Alali yellowfin tuna in water has 25.0 g of protein per 100 kcal and Sadia chicken breast 18.8 g (calculated) [7] [6]. Brand figures are the makers' own, read on 30 September 2026; recipes and labels change, so check the pack.
How we checked
We took each product's protein and calories from the maker's own website, or from a clear photo of the pack's nutrition panel on a retailer's product page. We checked that each is sold in Kuwait on talabat Mart's Kuwait listings [14] or on the maker's own Kuwaiti site (KDD's eShop [1], KFMB [8]); the Barebells bar was listed but out of stock on the day. Where the maker prints a serving, we show it; where it prints only 100 g or 100 ml, we worked out the pack, except for chicken and dry wheat, which we show per 100 g. Protein per 100 kcal is the grams of protein divided by the calories, times 100 (calculated): it lets you compare a light yoghurt with a rich cheese.
Figures marked † are calculated from the maker's figures. Recipes and labels change, so check the pack; we read all of these on 30 September 2026.

Eggs, beans and lentils (any brand)
For eggs and pulses we used USDA's values, which don't depend on the brand [11]. Kuwait's dietary guidelines say: "Legumes are high in protein, soluble fiber and minerals such as iron and zinc which makes them a good plant-based protein alternative." [12]

Per serving or per 100 g: reading the label
Kuwait's dietary guidelines say: "The nutrition fact is usually provided for one serving. Make sure to check the number of servings on the package." [12] Saudi Arabia's Food and Drug Authority says the same in its label guide: the nutrition facts cover one serving, and one product may hold more than one serving [13].
- Per 100 g or 100 ml is for comparing products of different sizes, like the per-100 lines in the tables above.
- Per serving is what you eat, if you eat the serving the label uses. A 30 g serving of halloumi isn't the whole 200 g block.
- Per pack is what you get when you finish it. Nada's Power Milk label lists 87 kcal and 9.5 g of protein per 100 ml; the bottle is 425 ml, so all of it is about 370 kcal and 40 g of protein (calculated) [4].
The SFDA guide also rates calories per serving: 40 kcal is low, 100 moderate and 400 or more high [13].
What counts as high in protein
The SFDA guide says a daily value of 5% or less means the product is low in that nutrient, and 20% or more means it's high. It uses 50 g of protein a day as the daily value, on a 2,000-calorie diet [13], so 20% is 10 g of protein per serving (calculated).
By that measure, one pack of any of the protein milks and shakes above, a pot of Nada Greek yoghurt, a serving of the Al Alali tuna and 100 g of raw Sadia chicken breast all count as high; a 30 g serving of halloumi (7 g) or of brown bread (3 g) doesn't [3] [7] [4] [6]. Kuwait's guidelines add: "Meat, poultry and fish are excellent sources of protein as well as iron, zinc, vitamin B12 and essential fatty acids." [12]

In Voltra
To log a pack, open the Eat tab and tap Barcode. Barcode lookups use Open Food Facts, so a product is found only if it's in that database; if it isn't, tap Describe and type what you had, for example KDD protein milk, chocolate, 250 ml, or use Search. Voltra sets a daily calorie target and a protein target for you, and the Coach answers questions using what you've logged.
Frequently asked
Which of these has the most protein in one pack?
Of the single-serve packs we checked, Nada's Power Milk: about 40 g of protein in a 425 ml bottle. Then Quest's coffee shake with 30 g, and KDD's Good For Me chocolate protein milk with about 22 g in 250 ml, calculated from its per-100 ml figures (the pack front says 20 g).
Is the label per serving or per 100 g?
It can be either. Kuwait's dietary guidelines say the figures are usually for one serving and to check how many servings the pack holds, and the SFDA's label guide says one product may hold more than one serving. Nada's Power Milk, for example, lists 100 ml, but the bottle is 425 ml.
What counts as high in protein on a label?
The SFDA's label guide says a daily value of 20% or more is high and 5% or less is low. Its daily value for protein is 50 g, so 10 g of protein or more per serving counts as high.
How much protein is in canned tuna?
Al Alali lists 13.8 g of protein in a 60 g serving of its white meat tuna in water, and 15 g in the sunflower oil version, which has 118 kcal against 64. Per 100 g that's about 23 g and 25 g.
