Calories in thareed: per 100 g and per plate
Thareed has about 96 to 107 kcal per 100 g, with about 7 to 8 g of protein, in analyses from Bahrain and the UAE [1][2][3]. That's bread and stew together, as served.
For example, a 400 g plate comes to about 380–430 kcal (calculated). How much bread and meat is on the plate moves the number most.
Calories per 100 g
| Thareed | kcal | Protein | Fat | Carbs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Thareed, Bahrain [1] | 107 | 6.8 g | 3.5 g | 12.1 g |
| Beef thareed on regag bread, UAE (restaurants) [2] | 96 | 7.0 g | 2.1 g | 12.1 g |
| Chicken thareed, UAE [3] | 101 | 7.8 g | 2.3 g | 12.3 g |
Per 100 g as served, bread and stew together.
A plate of thareed
None of these sources gives a standard plate, so weigh yours, or use these examples:
| Amount | Thareed |
|---|---|
| 250 g | 240–270 kcal |
| 400 g | 380–430 kcal |
| 600 g | 580–640 kcal |
Calculated from the lowest and highest figures per 100 g above [1][2].
What changes the number
- Bread and broth. A plate with more bread soaked in less broth has more calories per 100 g than the figures above.
- Meat and fat. Fatty cuts, or fat skimmed back into the broth, add to it.
- Chicken or meat. In the two UAE analyses they came out close: 101 kcal per 100 g for chicken and 96 for beef [2][3].
