Almarai and Nada protein milk: protein, calories and sugar per bottle

Almarai's Muscle Milk and Nada's Power Milk have the most protein, 40 g a bottle; Almarai's Protein Milk has 34 g in 400 ml, and Nada's Protein Milk about 30 g in 320 ml [1] [2] [3]. Per calorie, Almarai Muscle Milk plain gives the most: 40 g of protein for 232 kcal and 14 g of sugar, against about 370 kcal and 53 g of sugar for the same protein in Nada's Power Milk (calculated) [1] [2]. Most of Nada's own product pages list figures that don't add up, so for its 320 ml bottles we used photos of the labels and left the other products out.

How we checked

We took each bottle's figures from the maker's own product page: Almarai's [1] and Nada's [2]. Nada's pages for its 320 ml Protein Milk list figures that contradict themselves, so for those bottles we used clear photos of the nutrition label on Open Food Facts, a public database people fill in from packs [3]. We then checked every product two ways: protein × 4 + carbohydrate × 4 + fat × 9 should come within about 10% of the stated calories, and the per-100 ml figures times the bottle size should match the protein printed on the front. Products that failed either check aren't in the table; they're listed further down with what doesn't add up. We didn't change any maker's number.

Protein per 100 kcal is the grams of protein divided by the calories, times 100 (calculated): it shows how much of a bottle's calories come with protein.

Figures marked † are calculated from the maker's or the label's per-100 ml figures. Recipes and labels change, so check your bottle; we read all of these on 6 October 2026.

Per bottle, sorted by protein per 100 kcal (calculated). † calculated from the per-100 ml figures. Almarai states 34 g and 40 g of protein per bottle on its pages [1]; Nada's packs say 30 g and 40 g [2] [3]. Nada's online shop lists the chocolate Power Milk as out of stock [2].

Flavours that differ

Almarai's three 34 g flavours are close: 71 kcal per 100 ml for strawberry banana, 72 for vanilla and 73 for chocolate, so 284 to 292 kcal a bottle (calculated) [1]. Its Muscle Milk is where the flavour matters: chocolate has 68 kcal and 5.5 g of sugar per 100 ml against 58 kcal and 3.5 g for plain, so 40 kcal and 8 g of sugar more per bottle, for the same 40 g of protein (calculated) [1].

Nada's 320 ml chocolate label lists 87 kcal and 12.5 g of sugar per 100 ml, against 77 to 78 kcal and 9.7 g for strawberry and vanilla [3]. That's about 30 kcal and 9 g of sugar more per bottle for the same protein (calculated). Nada's Power Milk vanilla and chocolate pages list the same panel [2].

Nada's figures that don't add up

These Nada products aren't in the table because the figures on Nada's own pages don't agree with each other. We haven't changed any of them; this is what each page says [2].

Per 100 ml or per bottle: reading the label

Saudi Arabia's Food and Drug Authority says the nutrition facts cover one serving, and that one product may hold more than one serving [5]. On these bottles:

How a bottle fits your day's protein

How much protein you need depends on your weight and goal; our guide to how much protein you need a day has the numbers. For people who lift, the International Society of Sports Nutrition suggests 1.4 to 2.0 g per kg of body weight a day, and 20 to 40 g at a time every 3 to 4 hours [6]. In the largest meta-analysis, muscle gains levelled off at about 1.6 g per kg [7]. For someone who weighs 70 kg, that's about 112 g a day (calculated), and one bottle gives:

Each bottle gives about 30 to 40 g, inside the 20 to 40 g the ISSN suggests per sitting [6]. A bottle also adds 232 to 370 kcal (calculated), so it counts toward the day's calories as well.

In Voltra

To log a bottle, open the Eat tab and tap Barcode. Voltra looks the barcode up in Open Food Facts, so a bottle is found only if someone has added it there. Almarai's vanilla protein milk, barcode 6281007061278, comes up as Vanilla Protein Milk with 76 kcal and 8.5 g of protein per 100 ml; set the amount to 400 ml for the whole bottle and that's 304 kcal and 34 g of protein (calculated) [4]. That entry's label photo is an older label, with 9.5 g of added sugar per 200 ml; Almarai's page now lists 72 kcal per 100 ml and no added sugar [1], so check it against your bottle.

If a bottle isn't found, tap Enter it manually and copy the label, or tap Describe and type what you had, for example Nada protein milk, chocolate, 320 ml. Voltra also sets you a daily protein target: the Eat tab shows the day's protein against it in grams, and you can change it.
